DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE ETHAN ALLEN PROJECT?
Because many of my clients in Vancouver also live in China, I’m often asked to design homes in both places—and I really enjoy working on those projects. Over time I have simplified the process, using email and WeChat to advise and design, and working directly with shipping companies to facilitate delivery. We can complete an entire house and the client never has to leave China!
WHAT ETHAN ALLEN ITEM DO YOU CURRENTLY COVET?
I love the Stratton Chest. It’s an ideal accent piece in an entryway, hall, living room, or bedroom. The demilune shape and gilding grab your attention, and it’s the perfect size, so you can move it from room to room and never get bored with it.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN TIP?
Finish every room with side panel drapes. Because many new homes come with window blinds, clients often think that’s all they need—but really, they are the bare minimum. The windows in the main living areas and master bedroom must be properly dressed in order to set a home apart.
